Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in business development, commercial strategy, ingredient sales, or partnerships.
  • Direct experience in CPG, functional foods, or infant formula markets.
  • Proven track record of success in selling or commercializing functional ingredients.
  • Strong existing industry network.
  • Experience negotiating joint development agreements (JDAs) and long-term supply agreements.
  • Ability to translate scientific data into commercial claims and value propositions.
  • Strong financial and market analysis capability, including pricing models and unit economics.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset suitable for a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tailored market entry strategies for functional proteins across functional foods, beverages, nutraceuticals, and infant formula.
  • Define segment-specific value propositions, pricing, and competitive positioning.
  • Lead outreach to CPGs, ingredient houses, and infant formula companies.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of pilot, co-development, and supply-partnership opportunities.
  • Negotiate joint development agreements (JDAs), supply agreements, licensing, and channel partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the founding team on commercial viability, including legal, regulatory, and manufacturing aspects.
  • Track industry trends and provide market intelligence to shape the protein pipeline.
