Requirements

  • 1-4 years experience as a title abstractor/examiner.
  • Experience with online title search.
  • Familiarity with state, city, county, and school property tax jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail in reviewing and entering data.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Good judgment regarding confidential borrower data.
  • Familiarity with title search platforms such as Softpro, Qualia, or Datatrace is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze completed title searches for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client SOPs.
  • Examine and evaluate deeds, mortgages, property taxes, liens, judgments, and other legal documents to determine ownership.
  • Analyze chain of title and defects, and prepare reports outlining title-related matters.
  • Examine title records from outside abstractors and request additional information when necessary.
  • Synthesize search information to prepare property reports and title commitments.
  • Support Customer Service by communicating with clients regarding updates and inquiries.
