Requirements
- 1-4 years experience as a title abstractor/examiner.
- Experience with online title search.
- Familiarity with state, city, county, and school property tax jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail in reviewing and entering data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work overtime when necessary.
- Good judgment regarding confidential borrower data.
- Familiarity with title search platforms such as Softpro, Qualia, or Datatrace is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Analyze completed title searches for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client SOPs.
- Examine and evaluate deeds, mortgages, property taxes, liens, judgments, and other legal documents to determine ownership.
- Analyze chain of title and defects, and prepare reports outlining title-related matters.
- Examine title records from outside abstractors and request additional information when necessary.
- Synthesize search information to prepare property reports and title commitments.
- Support Customer Service by communicating with clients regarding updates and inquiries.
