Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in the United States.
- 4–6 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house team.
- Focus on commercial contracts and business services.
- Experience in consumer financial services, fintech, or mortgage lending.
- Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating SaaS, cloud services, licensing, and vendor contracts.
- Understanding of consumer financial regulations such as UDAP/UDAAP, FCRA, and state consumer protection laws.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance legal risk and growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities in evolving environments.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, SaaS and cloud services agreements, software licenses, professional services arrangements, and marketing and procurement contracts.
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to cross-functional teams, providing day-to-day guidance on operational, regulatory, and contractual matters.
- Partner with Procurement, Product, Engineering, IT, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to structure commercial relationships.
- Support third-party risk management by evaluating vendor relationships and ensuring adherence to consumer financial services regulations.
- Review and advise on powers of attorney, trust documents, and related authorization matters.
- Assist with legal operations initiatives, including contract lifecycle management, template development, and process optimization.
