Requirements
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing.
- 4-6 years of relevant legal experience at a top law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination.
- Experience in consumer financial services, fintech, mortgage lending, or a highly regulated consumer-facing industry.
- Strong background in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and technology contracts.
- Understanding of the consumer financial services regulatory landscape (e.g., UDAAP, FCRA).
- Expertise in commercial terms, risk allocation, liability provisions, and indemnification.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience building cross-functional relationships.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including vendor, technology, SaaS, cloud services, and software license agreements.
- Partner with internal teams including Procurement, IT, Product, and Engineering to structure commercial relationships.
- Review and analyze powers of attorney and trust documents to ensure proper authorization for homeowner transactions.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to business teams on operational and legal questions.
- Support third-party risk management by assessing vendor risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Support legal operations with contract management system implementation and template development.
- Assist with litigation, commercial disputes, real estate, and regulatory examinations.
