  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, headcount modeling, variance analysis, and core FP&A disciplines.
  • Proven ability to build and own financial models for product-level P&Ls, including revenue, COGS, gross margin, and investment tracking.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics such as ARR, NRR, pipeline performance, CAC, LTV, and related unit economics.
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure cost structures and translating them into financial models.
  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills with the ability to work in environments with incomplete or evolving data.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear business insights for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Comfortable partnering cross-functionally with engineering, product, sales, and executive teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for modeling, analysis, or research while applying strong judgment to validate outputs.
  • Proactive, business-partner mindset with the ability to bring recommendations rather than just reporting results.

Responsibilities

  • Own annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial planning for the R&D organization, including headcount, contractor spend, tooling, software, and infrastructure allocations.
  • Serve as the primary finance partner for R&D leadership, supporting ad hoc analysis, scenario modeling, and strategic decision-making.
  • Build and maintain business case models for product development initiatives, platform investments, and engineering projects, including cost, revenue assumptions, and payback analysis.
  • Track and evaluate actual performance of R&D investments against original financial models, identifying variances and insights for leadership.
  • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure cost models, including forecasting usage, analyzing product-level spend, and identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Support product-level P&L reporting, including ARR, revenue, gross margin, and investment allocation across product lines.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to evaluate tradeoffs between cost structure, architecture decisions, and long-term scalability.
  • Contribute to executive and board-level reporting by delivering clear financial narratives tied to product and business performance.
  • Identify efficiency opportunities across cloud and R&D spend, including resource optimization and cost-saving initiatives.
