Requirements

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PhD, or PharmD required).
  • 2–3+ years of experience in a medical communications agency or similar scientific content environment.
  • Strong background in scientific/medical writing and content development across multiple formats (e.g., publications, slide decks, congress materials).
  • Excellent ability to interpret complex clinical data and translate it into clear, accurate, and engaging scientific narratives.
  • Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, clients, and key opinion leaders.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential, including experience mentoring writers or contributing to team development.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in deadline-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory/MLR processes and therapeutic landscape analysis is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the scientific development and quality oversight of medical communications deliverables, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with client strategy.
  • Partner with Scientific Directors and account teams to translate client objectives into scientifically rigorous, audience-appropriate content and communication plans.
  • Guide, mentor, and review the work of medical writers to elevate overall content quality and ensure adherence to scientific and editorial standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, key opinion leaders, and internal stakeholders to shape scientific narratives across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Support and contribute to advisory boards, regulatory/MLR review processes, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Identify scientific insights, competitive intelligence, and therapeutic trends to enhance content relevance and strategic direction.
  • Participate in business growth initiatives, including proposal development and support for new client opportunities when needed.
