Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent).
  • Fluency in English.
  • Minimum of six years of grant writing experience, with at least three years as the lead writer on funded grant proposals.
  • Strong scientific or technical knowledge relevant to climate solutions.
  • Experience securing grants from climate-focused federal and state agencies (e.g., DOE, USDA, DOD, NSF, EPA, CEC, NYSERDA, MassCEC).
  • Outstanding research skills and a clear, compelling writing style.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage project schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Equipment and technical capability to work fully remotely with intercontinental teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior staff and the Director of Grants to manage the full proposal development process including project design, document preparation, and submission.
  • Support multiple proposal projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Draft complex technical narratives, work plans, budget justifications, and letters of commitment for federal and state funding programs.
  • Conduct external research and gather internal data to provide content for proposals.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients to refine project scope, commercialization plans, and overall fundraising strategy.
  • Liaise with external partners and stakeholders to support proposal development and consortium building.
