Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as an outstanding math teacher with a track record of supporting students to grade-level performance.
- Deep content knowledge across middle school mathematics and progression into algebra.
- Deep expertise in the science of learning and application to instructional math content.
- Proven experience designing math curriculum, including scope and sequence, lessons, units, and assessments for use by educators.
- Ability to articulate complex instructional concepts precisely for reproduction by others.
- Proficiency in or aptitude for using AI tools to accelerate content development with high-quality oversight.
- Self-directed work style suitable for high-autonomy environments with shifting context.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Passion for math instruction and educational technology.
Responsibilities
- Design lessons for the MCP instructional approach that move students from first exposure to mastery.
- Set and hold a high quality bar for mathematical accuracy, learning science alignment, and usability.
- Specify and document instructional structures, worked examples, and predictable misconceptions to make great teaching repeatable.
- Utilize AI tools to create content by writing prompts, managing specifications, and exercising judgment on output quality.
- Build activation of prerequisite knowledge, scaffolds, and on-ramps to support students working below grade level.
- Partner with the VP of Product and engineering team to develop the instructional approach and tools.
