Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience solving complex problems with large datasets.
- Track record of framing ambiguous questions into rigorous, data-driven analyses.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Robotics, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong Python and SQL skills with experience using data analysis libraries.
- Experience applying advanced statistical and machine learning methods to drive insights.
- Demonstrated experience with hypothesis testing and causal analysis.
- Ability to work independently and drive projects from problem definition to results.
- Proven communication skills for explaining technical findings to engineering partners and leadership.
- Willingness to learn and teach new statistical and ML techniques.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of evaluation frameworks for the autonomous system, connecting technical problems to rigorous, data-driven approaches.
- Collaborate with Functional Safety and Systems Engineering teams to map metrics to automotive safety standards like SOTIF and ISO 21448.
- Monitor reliability of evaluation metrics, detecting drift and inconsistencies to ensure an accurate evaluation ecosystem.
- Develop statistical analysis methods for simulation and on-road performance data.
- Partner with triage and simulation teams to turn disengagements and edge cases into generative scenarios for test coverage.
- Build confidence in the evaluation framework through data-driven insights and communication to stakeholders.
- Establish self-service models for developers to understand the impact of their changes.
