Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus in Power Engineering
- 5 - 7+ years of experience in project engineering, development, procurement, and construction management within the power generation, utility, and transmission industries
- Experience with the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of high-voltage utility substations, switchyards, and transmission systems
- Experience leading projects in a cross-functional team from initial feasibility to construction
- Understanding of key project development elements including permitting, regulatory matters, environmental compliance, and interconnection
- Knowledge of market dynamics related to major equipment, engineering services, and construction services
- Strong understanding of the battery energy storage value proposition and engineering fundamentals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including MS Project, SharePoint, and Excel
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent, including Revu Bluebeam
- Ability to travel intermittently, up to approximately 30% annually
Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead the technical deliverables associated with the design, construction, and commissioning of Plus Power’s BESS projects in collaboration with third-party engineering and EPC firms
- Support the EPC Leadership Team on a broad range of supplier and contractor management matters
- Partner with the Transmission, Interconnection, and Market Analysis teams in the definition, review, negotiation, and execution of interconnection agreements
- Assist with the preparation and issuance of RFQ/RFP packages to EPC contractors and Engineering consultants
- Support the EPC Procurement team in developing and issuing project scopes of work, RFPs, schedules, budgets, cash flow projections and technical contract requirements
- Attend meetings with various project stakeholders including developers, contractors, consultants, and utility companies
- Travel to project sites before, during, and after construction to support a wide range of project-related tasks and activities
- Provide input on permitting and regulatory applications and respond to stakeholder inquiries
