Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus in Power Engineering
  • 5 - 7+ years of experience in project engineering, development, procurement, and construction management within the power generation, utility, and transmission industries
  • Experience with the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of high-voltage utility substations, switchyards, and transmission systems
  • Experience leading projects in a cross-functional team from initial feasibility to construction
  • Understanding of key project development elements including permitting, regulatory matters, environmental compliance, and interconnection
  • Knowledge of market dynamics related to major equipment, engineering services, and construction services
  • Strong understanding of the battery energy storage value proposition and engineering fundamentals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including MS Project, SharePoint, and Excel
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent, including Revu Bluebeam
  • Ability to travel intermittently, up to approximately 30% annually

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the technical deliverables associated with the design, construction, and commissioning of Plus Power’s BESS projects in collaboration with third-party engineering and EPC firms
  • Support the EPC Leadership Team on a broad range of supplier and contractor management matters
  • Partner with the Transmission, Interconnection, and Market Analysis teams in the definition, review, negotiation, and execution of interconnection agreements
  • Assist with the preparation and issuance of RFQ/RFP packages to EPC contractors and Engineering consultants
  • Support the EPC Procurement team in developing and issuing project scopes of work, RFPs, schedules, budgets, cash flow projections and technical contract requirements
  • Attend meetings with various project stakeholders including developers, contractors, consultants, and utility companies
  • Travel to project sites before, during, and after construction to support a wide range of project-related tasks and activities
  • Provide input on permitting and regulatory applications and respond to stakeholder inquiries
