Requirements

  • College degree in a STEM field: e.g. Economics, Actuarial Science, Health Economics, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Health Services Research.
  • 3+ years of relevant quantitative analysis experience.
  • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or on the track to become one (Bonus).
  • Strong understanding of health insurance concepts, data sources, and nuances (Bonus).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of managed care and how provider reimbursement policies relate to the control of medical claims costs (Bonus).

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analytical projects to research use and unit cost medical cost drivers.
  • Develop and deliver detailed reports, presentations, and dashboards that distill complex medical economics insights for team members, project teams, and team leaders.
  • Participate in discussions and presentations with market management leadership, market medical officers, and Medical Economics leadership about medical cost drivers and cost mitigation opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with operational leaders across important teams (e.g., Market Management, Affordability, Network, Payment Integrity, Clinical).
  • Develop knowledge of industry best practices and work to guide innovation.
  • Contribute to department programs around automation, AI use, documentation, and tooling improvements.
