Requirements
- Six (6) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Relevant state licenses as required.
- Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
- Proficiency in PC usage, including Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and organizational skills.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-stress environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex or technically difficult professional liability, employment practices, and directors and officers claims.
- Investigate claims and develop effective action plans to reach timely resolution.
- Negotiate claim settlements up to designated authority levels.
- Calculate and monitor appropriate financial reserves throughout the life of a claim.
- Coordinate legal defense by managing attorney assignments and reviewing invoices for compliance.
- Apply cost containment strategies and identify subrogation, recovery, or fraud opportunities.
- Represent the company in depositions, mediations, and trial monitoring as necessary.
- Maintain professional client relationships and communicate claim activity.
