Requirements
- Must have PA (Pennsylvania) claims experience.
- One to two years of workers’ compensation lost time claim handling experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time and multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and standard medical procedures related to worker’s compensation.
- Ability to travel throughout states as required to handle claims inventory.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with insureds, injured workers, brokers, and legal counsel to determine coverage and liability.
- Administer the delivery of timely, accurate indemnity and medical benefits.
- Evaluate claim exposure and resolve claims, including managing litigated cases with defense counsel.
- Maintain quality claim files in accordance with best practices and company procedures.
- Implement managed care strategies and coordinate rehabilitation or medical management.
- Interact with State and Federal Boards and Commissions while establishing proper reserves.
- Mentor and train less experienced Claim Department representatives.
- Present files for Agent/Broker and Insured File Reviews.
