Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Active state teaching license (Science, preferred Earth Science grades 8-12).
  • Ability to clear a required background check.
  • Residency in the state of Indiana.
  • Ability to obtain Indiana teaching certification reciprocity within 60 days if currently licensed in another state.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain a professional home office environment during work hours.
  • Experience working with the proposed age group is desired.
  • Experience with online learning platforms is desired.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to interpret student data and drive instructional decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
  • Personalize learning for all students and differentiate instruction based on mastery levels.
  • Augment course content according to policies using appropriate virtual tools.
  • Maintain the grade book, ensure academic integrity, and manage student placement and promotion.
  • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
  • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and provide timely communication.
  • Support learning coaches and parents with curricular issues and basic troubleshooting.
  • Travel for professional development and student testing approximately 20% of the time.
