Requirements
- Experience as a Controller, Head of Finance, or primary finance hire at a startup or high-growth company.
- Proven ability to own both technical and operational accounting.
- Direct experience with payroll and benefits administration using platforms like Gusto, Rippling, ADP, or Justworks.
- Experience building or cleaning up accounting/finance operations from the ground up.
- Proficiency in implementing or improving accounting systems such as QuickBooks or NetSuite.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, GAAP compliance, and financial modeling.
- Experience managing multiple clients or priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for working directly with founders and external stakeholders.
- Strong accounting foundation; CPA is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly close and deliver accurate, decision-ready financials.
- Translate financial results into clear insights for founders.
- Build and improve processes, systems, and controls as companies scale.
- Manage and mentor a team (onshore + offshore) to execute day-to-day accounting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors, tax partners, and external stakeholders.
- Perform full-cycle accounting including reconciliations, AR/AP, and reporting.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and financial modeling.
- Ensure GAAP compliance including accruals and ASC 606 standards.
