Requirements
- 12+ years in backend or platform engineering.
- Substantial experience building production ML systems or data-intensive infrastructure.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, Scala, and/or Python.
- Deep understanding of ML systems design: feature stores, training/serving consistency, model versioning, and online/offline inference pipelines.
- Experience with high-scale batch and real-time data pipelines (Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or equivalent).
- Expertise with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications including APIs and multi-tenant infrastructure.
- Proven ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives.
- Production experience with feature stores like Chronon, Tecton, or Feast is preferred.
- Experience with model serving infrastructure and schema management is preferred.
- Track record of defining and enforcing technical contracts between ML and product teams is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Define the architecture and contracts governing how models move from development to production, including feature store design and model schema management.
- Lead the buildout of a unified serving stack that provides a turnkey path from model training to production.
- Architect backfill and evaluation infrastructure to enable production inference simulation over historical data.
- Establish domain contracts between modeling and serving teams to ensure clear, enforced interfaces.
- Review and evolve ML serving architecture, including feature pipeline design and model composition.
- Write and review code for feature engineering, feature stores, and service endpoints.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define artifact handoffs and integration contracts.
- Drive milestone planning and mentor engineers through design reviews and hands-on pairing.
