Requirements
- Proven people leadership experience with a track record of growing engineers to senior and beyond senior levels.
- Strong stakeholder leadership skills to translate technical needs into actionable roadmaps and strategies.
- Senior-level technical depth in cloud providers (e.g., GCP, AWS).
- Experience with Kubernetes (any distribution).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ArgoCD).
- Experience scaling high-load CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions with self-hosted runners).
- Backend engineering background with fluency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
- Proven track record of ensuring team efficiency in remote, async-first environments.
- Comfortable reviewing complex architecture and code.
- Willingness to use Camunda's own product.
Responsibilities
- Guide a high-leverage team of four infrastructure engineers through a massive reduction of manual work using an AI-driven engineering approach.
- Develop and execute a strategy for CI/CD and artifact distribution systems to handle increased testing volume without increasing engineering toil.
- Ensure the team reaches a zero-touch scalable infrastructure, automating dependency management, incident resolution, and cloud cost optimization.
- Grow, mentor, and coach engineers by setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of empathy, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as an advocate for internal platform users, ensuring the infrastructure provides a 'Golden Path' for 150+ engineers across 20+ teams.
- Review complex architecture and code, contributing hands-on to internal workflow automations as needed.
