Requirements

  • 4-5 years of experience in energy policy or regulation.
  • Demonstrated history of successful direct advocacy.
  • JD (desired) or other graduate degree required.
  • Excellent writing skills to draft regulatory filings independently.
  • Excellent oral communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to allocate resources effectively.
  • Ability to synthesize information across engineering, markets, and finance disciplines.
  • Comfort with measurable performance metrics and results-driven accountability.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Intervene in state regulatory proceedings to provide comments and advocacy pleadings.
  • Advocate company positions before staff and stakeholders at state commission meetings, ISO/RTO committees, and FERC.
  • Track rulemakings and tariff changes in wholesale electric markets to advocate for company interests.
  • Coordinate with Energy Markets, Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Finance teams on policy work.
  • Influence initiatives by working individually or with trade associations to advocate for change.
  • Serve as a public advocate and spokesperson in stakeholder meetings and with commissioners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulators, legislators, trade associations, and environmental groups.
