Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in planning, sustainability, business, accounting, finance, or other related fields.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the solid waste and/or sustainability industry.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint, including the ability to create and modify report templates.
- Strong critical thinking skills to formulate solutions, test hypotheses, and develop strategies based on analysis.
- Ability to work effectively under multiple project managers with competing deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client presentations.
- Familiarity and comfort with AI tools.
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight as needed.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data and prepare MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint briefing documents for solid waste policy, planning, financial, accounting, and economic studies.
- Develop MS Excel-based business forecasting models for recycling, composting, and other programs.
- Work independently under the guidance of project managers and switch between projects to meet milestones.
- Ensure alignment with Proposition 218 requirements for financial planning and decision-making when working in California.
- Support senior staff in project execution, business development, and marketing while leading junior staff.
- Conduct benchmarking surveys and industry research, and communicate with clients to gather project information.
- Produce, edit, and present clear and succinct reports, proposals, and presentations.
