Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant healthcare experience (oncology, hematology, or triage preferred).
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
- Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency.
- Ability to navigate multiple software applications and electronic medical records (EMR) simultaneously.
- Ability to document patient interactions and clinical information accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
Responsibilities
- Address patient calls, portal messages, and emails regarding care topics, escalating clinical concerns to licensed staff.
- Follow standardized triage protocols for reporting changes in patient condition.
- Manage patient scheduling, appointment coordination, and follow-up.
- Perform medication reconciliation and document current medication lists.
- Collaborate with clinical team members regarding patient care needs via electronic communication or telephone.
- Support quality patient care by adhering to clinical and safety procedures.
- Distribute patient and caregiver education materials.
- Assist with medical records, lab coordination, and test result notification.
- Aid in prescription refill requests and prior authorization processes.
