Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field (preferred).
- 1-3 years of professional or healthcare experience (preferred).
- 1-3 years of accounts receivable experience (preferred).
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Advanced knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and EOBs.
- Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and ASA codes.
- Proficiency in computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams.
- Basic math skills for calculating anesthesia units and reimbursement percentages.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Contact insurance companies to verify status on outstanding claims.
- Process and follow up on appeals to insurance companies.
- Refile claims as needed.
- Work correspondence on a daily basis.
- Audit adjustment requests and complete them as appropriate.
- Resolve manual tasks assigned to AR for follow-up.
- Manage outstanding accounts receivable from assigned work queues.
- Meet productivity standards and maintain an accuracy rating of 97% or greater.
