Requirements
- 2–3 years of medical billing and AR follow-up experience.
- Strong proficiency in billing software such as eClinical, Athena, Open PM, or MicroMD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience using insurance carrier websites for eligibility and claims.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must pass a baseline billing test during the interview process.
- CPB, CPC, or similar credential preferred.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits.
- Post charges, payments, and ERA adjustments.
- Prepare, review, and submit electronic/paper claims.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and file appeals.
- Review patient bills for accuracy and set up payment plans.
- Communicate with patients, clients, and insurance carriers professionally.
- Maintain cash spreadsheets and prepare monthly reports.
