Requirements
- Experience as a P&L owner at a consumer lending company managing loss, yield, and portfolio economics.
- Proven track record building end-to-end unsecured consumer loan credit models.
- Deep, hands-on credit underwriting experience with direct ownership of live underwriting decisions.
- Experience managing analysts with a focus on talent development and team building.
- Strong AI aptitude with practical experience using AI tools in credit or analytics workflows.
- Deep fluency in credit risk concepts (underwriting policy, scoring, vintage analysis, loss forecasting).
- Knowledge of consumer lending regulations including TILA, FCRA, ECOA, and UDAAP.
- Deep fluency with major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) and alternative data sources.
- Strong communication skills for presenting portfolio and analytics findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in cross-functional partnership with Product, Engineering, or Operations teams.
- Professional background from a best-in-class consumer lender or innovative fintech firm.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the GM for lending profitability, managing credit loss, yield, and portfolio unit economics.
- Design and optimize underwriting policy layers, knock-out rules, and approval thresholds.
- Define and improve underwriting criteria and decisioning logic to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
- Lead collections strategy including segmentation, treatment paths, and recovery optimization.
- Integrate alternative data such as bank-transaction and income verification to expand near-prime credit access.
- Oversee portfolio performance management, including loss forecasting and early-warning indicators.
- Partner with the SVP of Product to improve lending applications and borrower-facing apps.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team while championing a culture of data-driven rigor.
