- Certification by the American Translators Association (ATA) or equivalent from a recognized language institution.
- Two years of experience providing human translation services to local, state, or federal government offices.
- Three professional references verifying status as a certified translator.
- Full fluency in English and the target language.
- Trained or accredited through a higher education institution.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or higher.
- Reliable desktop PC or laptop with dedicated, secure high-speed internet.
- Proficiency in modern CAT tools (e.g., XTM, Trados).
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and PDF markup tools.
Responsibilities
- Provide written translations using a Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tool.
- Adhere to project work instructions, glossaries, and reference materials.
- Ensure content is culturally and linguistically appropriate for the target language.
- Perform language quality checks to ensure translations are error-free and faithful to source documents.
- Deliver completed translation jobs by given deadlines and within project budgets.
- Review formatted target-language PDF files for accuracy using Adobe markup tools.
- Communicate in a timely and professional manner with project team members.
- Participate in quality management processes such as CARs and RCAs.
- Protect sensitive information including PHI, PII, and SBU.
