Requirements
- 4+ years experience building large-scale backend systems and APIs
- Proficiency with TypeScript (Go preferred; Python and Java also valued)
- Experience with autoscaling strategies for applications on Kubernetes or container orchestration
- Comfortable using agentic coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, SQL, and database modeling
- Familiarity with building and observing applications on AWS
- Strong technical design instincts and ability to navigate high ambiguity
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional and async environments
- React experience is a nice-to-have
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the Fondue product and its underlying architecture
- Independently investigate, design, and execute solutions across evolving distributed systems
- Drive system decoupling and modularization of monolithic dependencies
- Implement AI-first coding practices and tooling to accelerate development
- Architect, build, and maintain highly available, scalable REST APIs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and customer support teams
- Identify and eliminate single points of failure to improve system resilience
