Requirements
- Bachelor's degree at a minimum.
- 7+ years of professional engineering experience leading technical projects and initiatives.
- Deep, senior-level expertise in Python and the Django framework.
- Exceptional system design skills for reliable, distributed backend services.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proven experience defining and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery and dbt, including query optimization.
- Deep knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational database architecture (PostgreSQL).
- Strong understanding of observability, profiling, and performance tuning in production.
- Excellent technical communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for new backend systems, microservices, and scalable member-facing APIs.
- Design robust, versioned REST APIs that power cross-platform web and mobile member applications.
- Write clean, performant, and highly testable code using Python and Django.
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP utilizing Terraform.
- Manage containerized deployments and orchestrate services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Architect application-level data access patterns interacting with PostgreSQL and BigQuery/dbt data layers.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and AI teams to consume structured data for automated member interactions.
- Define and monitor SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs to maintain operational excellence.
- Lead root-cause analysis for production incidents and implement permanent architectural safeguards.
- Mentor mid-level engineers and champion rigorous engineering standards, documentation, and testing strategies.
