Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or a relevant field.
  • At least 10 years of senior-level leadership in political strategy, public policy, campaigns, or advocacy.
  • Demonstrated record of legislative or budget wins at the state level.
  • Deep understanding of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) compliance and campaign finance law.
  • Established credibility and relationships within the Michigan political landscape.
  • In-depth knowledge of Michigan’s reproductive health care delivery system.
  • Strong strategic judgment and executive presence with the ability to advise at the highest levels.
  • Proven success in legislative strategy, endorsements, electoral strategy, and political fundraising.
  • Commitment to reproductive freedom, health equity, and race equity.
  • Willingness to travel (25%) and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Set and lead multi-year political and legislative strategy aligned with state and national reproductive health priorities.
  • Advise the President, CEO, and Executive Leadership Team on political risk, opportunity, and positioning.
  • Provide executive oversight of all 501(c)(4) functions, including advocacy, electoral work, organizing, and compliance.
  • Direct proactive and defensive strategy on reproductive healthcare access, including abortion, contraception, and gender-affirming care.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Legislature, Governor’s office, and state agencies.
  • Oversee PPAM’s endorsement process, candidate vetting, and political assessments.
  • Lead, develop, and evaluate the Government Affairs and Advocacy team.
