Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, public health, life sciences, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality improvement, or clinical auditing; behavioral or mental health experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare documentation standards, clinical workflows, and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive, detailed, and confidential patient information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret audit data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple audits and priorities independently.
  • Comfort working with healthcare systems, data tools, and developing analytical capabilities over time.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled quality assurance audits of patient records, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review clinical documentation and workflows as part of the organization’s quality improvement and quality assurance programs.
  • Prepare, organize, and support records for internal and external audits, including medical director reviews and patient classification assessments.
  • Identify gaps in documentation and processes, providing actionable recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Document audit findings, corrective actions, and recommendations in a structured manner to support tracking, reporting, and trend analysis.
  • Communicate audit results to internal stakeholders, including leadership and clinical staff, and support follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Monitor completion of remediation efforts to ensure compliance with audit recommendations and quality standards.
  • Support root cause analyses (RCAs), including documentation, meeting coordination, and implementation tracking of action plans.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of audit tools, workflows, policies, and quality documentation standards.
  • Analyze audit data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement across quality systems.
