Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 5-10 years of experience in public accounting or outsourced accounting.
- Demonstrated progression in complexity, scope, and number of engagements managed.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize projects, set priorities, and delegate tasks.
- Proficiency in modern accounting technology such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Nexonia, and Excel.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools.
- Commitment to 40 hours of continuing professional education per year.
- Demonstrated ability to bring in new business.
- CPA license is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations and deliverables for a portfolio of nonprofit and/or government contractor clients.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly close processes, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ongoing client communications and maintain regular touchpoints.
- Support client onboarding by establishing workflows, timelines, and expectations.
- Present financial results and key insights to client management and leadership teams.
- Plan, schedule, and staff engagements while monitoring budgets and resource utilization.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and advisory insights.
- Review internal controls and work programs while providing coaching and training to staff.
