Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related discipline (MS or PhD preferred).
- Prior success in growing a small company or business unit.
- Experience managing large project teams, business units, or a small business.
- Demonstrated ability to create stakeholder value and manage highly skilled teams.
- Organized and strategic thinker with the ability to move from ideation to execution.
- Ability to translate broad goals into actionable steps and solve complex problems.
- Knowledge of and experience with the Department of Energy and Manufacturing USA Institutes.
- Strong leadership, motivation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work across geographic boundaries with multi-location teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a long-term growth strategy to ensure RAPID's sustainability, industry relevance, and impact.
- Serve as the primary external ambassador, building relationships with leaders in industry, government, academia, and the Manufacturing USA network.
- Identify and secure new funding, strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Provide leadership to position RAPID as a national leader in process intensification and advanced manufacturing innovation.
- Partner with the RAPID Governing Board and Executive Committee to establish priorities and evaluate organizational performance.
- Lead organizational growth, ensuring the institute has the structure and talent to achieve strategic objectives.
- Monitor trends in manufacturing, energy, and policy to identify opportunities and risks.
- Establish success metrics for financial performance, membership growth, and project impact.
