Requirements
- 11+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience in a web hosting or cloud environment.
- 7+ years of experience in a Senior position or Level 3 Engineer role.
- Expertise in KVM and Libvirt with a minimum of 7+ years of experience.
- Expert knowledge of web hosting technologies including cPanel, Plesk, WHM, and LAMP/LEMP stacks.
- Strong scripting ability in Perl, Bash, and Python.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Networking expertise including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewalls, and Load Balancing.
- Familiarity with storage technologies including RAID, SAN, NAS, and distributed storage systems.
- Experience working in a 24/7 production environment with on-call duties.
- Ability to build and configure servers from the ground up.
- Good English communication skills.
- Certifications such as RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Kubernetes (CKA) are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Act as the final escalation point (L3) for complex server, hosting, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve critical system failures, network outages, and performance issues.
- Manage, optimize, and secure Linux-based hosting environments using CentOS, Ubuntu, and RHEL.
- Administer web servers, databases, and caching layers including Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Memcached.
- Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, and Perl for server provisioning.
- Automate infrastructure deployments using tools like Ansible or Terraform.
- Deploy and manage virtualization environments including KVM, OpenStack, and Docker/Kubernetes.
- Implement security measures including firewall rules, SELinux/AppArmor, and patch management.
- Monitor infrastructure using Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or Nagios and perform 24/7 on-call duties.
- Mentor L1 and L2 support engineers and collaborate with NOC and DevOps teams.
