Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in first line operations risk management at a bank or financial services company.
- 5+ years of direct experience working in a customer operations function.
- 5+ years of experience as a people manager.
- Track record of building first line risk programs from the ground up.
- Experience translating risk strategy into functional operational plans.
- Ability to build credibility and earn buy-in from senior leaders and process owners.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex risk landscapes to executives.
- Experience driving risk functions using data-driven and automated control methodologies.
- Willingness and ability to travel 4–6 times a year for multi-day team sessions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with process owners across new customer originations, customer servicing, payments, and portfolio management to assess risk and build controls.
- Own and manage the incident management process from identification through to resolution.
- Utilize customer complaints and operational reviews to identify emerging risks.
- Create and deliver executive-level risk reporting to senior leadership.
- Build and lead the operations risk management team.
- Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance departments to define and execute accountability frameworks.
