Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in chargebacks, acquiring disputes, card payments, or related payment operations.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end chargeback lifecycle including representations, pre-arbitrations, and arbitration.
- Deep experience working with Mastercard, Visa, or other card scheme regulations and dispute processes.
- Proven ability to investigate complex dispute cases, analyze transaction data, and make evidence-based decisions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict scheme and operational deadlines.
- Willingness to work on rotational shifts, including weekends, and perform outbound calls to members.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of acquiring chargebacks, representments, pre-arbitrations, and arbitration cases.
- Analyze high-value and complex chargeback cases to determine legitimacy and identify indicators of friendly fraud or systemic rings.
- Review and submit compelling evidence packages to successfully overturn invalid claims and minimize financial losses.
- Act as a subject matter expert on card scheme rules and dispute processes across Mastercard, Visa, and other payment networks.
- Monitor dispute trends, root causes, and emerging risks to provide recommendations for reducing chargeback volumes.
- Liaise with payment processors, acquiring partners, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex dispute cases.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the acquiring disputes function.
