Requirements

  • 2-3 years of customer service experience via phone or call center.
  • 1-2 years of medical billing, insurance, or related healthcare experience.
  • Experience navigating electronic medical record (EMR) systems (e.g., Athena, eClinicalWorks, Epic).
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Ability to toggle between multiple systems efficiently.
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to show empathy and passion for customer service.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and ever-changing environment.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage 60-80 incoming and outgoing patient calls regarding medical bills daily.
  • Handle patient questions via inbound chats, phone calls, and outbound call campaigns using the Cedar platform.
  • Execute and follow through on escalations to healthcare providers.
  • Lead the payment posting process and conduct follow-ups on defaulted payments.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies and third-party stakeholders.
  • Meet individual and team metrics related to patient satisfaction and collections performance.
