Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional treasury or risk management designation preferred, such as CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) or CRM (Canadian Risk Management).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in treasury management, including cash management, banking operations, investments, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of fixed income investments, corporate banking services, treasury operations, and accounting for financial instruments.
  • Experience managing insurance programs, assessing business risks, and coordinating insurance coverage requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong financial modeling, reporting, and analytical capabilities.
  • Knowledge of treasury management systems and treasury-related technologies is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and external partners.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience mentoring, motivating, and guiding team members.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage treasury operations, including cash management, corporate credit card programs, banking relationships, loan schedules, interest reporting, and liquidity planning.
  • Oversee investment activities by evaluating opportunities, recommending optimal cash deployment strategies, executing transactions, and monitoring settlements.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance treasury policies, procedures, controls, and reporting processes to ensure regulatory compliance and strong governance standards.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly treasury reports for senior leadership, auditors, and other stakeholders while supporting financial close activities.
  • Support treasury-related initiatives such as system enhancements, process improvements, and financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions.
  • Review and approve banking activities, including payments and cash movement processes across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead the organization’s global insurance risk management program, including policy renewals, underwriting submissions, coverage assessments, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Review contracts to identify insurance requirements and potential risk exposures while recommending appropriate coverage solutions.
  • Partner with internal teams to identify emerging risks, improve risk mitigation strategies, and implement best-practice insurance processes.
