Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in frontend development with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS/SASS.
- Backend experience in Node.js and Java (Spring Boot).
- Experience with REST/GraphQL API design and PostgreSQL.
- Experience working in cloud-based microservices environments (AWS or GCP).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and observability tools.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams through sprint planning, estimation, and delivery execution.
- Strong mentorship skills with a track record of improving team performance.
- Experience handling production incidents, on-call rotations, and postmortems.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently.
Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional engineering team by balancing hands-on development with technical leadership, primarily driving frontend development in React and TypeScript while contributing to backend services in Node.js and Java.
- Partner with Product and UX teams to translate requirements into clear technical plans, break down epics, and define well-scoped deliverables.
- Own technical direction for the team, including architecture decisions, system design discussions, and cross-team engineering alignment.
- Mentor and coach engineers through code reviews, pair programming, 1:1s, and continuous feedback.
- Manage sprint planning, retrospectives, workflow health, and delivery tracking while proactively identifying and removing blockers.
- Oversee technical debt prioritization, architectural improvements, and documentation.
- Support production reliability through monitoring practices, incident response, and on-call readiness.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding activities.
