Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or rare/orphan disease sales.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales leadership managing field teams in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Deep expertise in orphan disease or specialty pharmaceutical sales models and distribution networks.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing sales teams across large geographic regions.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare stakeholder engagement and compliance requirements.
  • Clinical and product knowledge in neurology or rare disease markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive performance through coaching and structured field leadership.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and decision-making abilities.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Ability to manage frequent travel, including overnight, weekend, or evening commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Translate corporate and commercial objectives into actionable field strategies for a team of Area Business Specialists.
  • Partner with senior leadership to define and execute regional business plans aligned with national goals.
  • Conduct regular field coaching, performance reviews, and business planning sessions.
  • Drive sales excellence, including territory management, account planning, and compliant clinical selling practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare stakeholders to improve patient outcomes.
  • Manage regional budget allocations to maximize commercial effectiveness and ROI.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of sales talent including hiring, onboarding, and ongoing performance development.
  • Collaborate with marketing and training departments to implement and optimize regional initiatives.
