Requirements
- Solid backend experience in Elixir, Go, Python, or a comparable server-side language.
- Deep understanding of backend systems, API design, and data modeling.
- Several years of experience shipping production software with a track record of leading projects.
- Experience taking ambiguous problems from start to finish with a sense of ownership.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Eagerness to keep up with AI developments, including new models and tools.
- Familiarity with ML/LLM systems such as prompt engineering and evals is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Partner closely with product and design to balance user needs, business goals, and technical trade-offs.
- Own work end-to-end and deliver results on time, driving clarity and shipping features.
- Apply engineering best practices including code review, automated testing, CI/CD, and A/B experimentation.
- Set the technical direction and quality bar for the team across architecture and delivery.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and contribute to architectural discussions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence.
