Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in console or PC game development.
- 5+ years of experience using Unreal Engine.
- Prior experience in a leadership capacity.
- Strong portfolio showcasing world and local lighting work at AAA quality.
- Excellent knowledge of industry-standard modeling and sculpting software (Maya, Max, ZBrush, Photoshop).
- In-depth understanding and practical experience of lighting in real-time game engines or CGI/VFX.
- Proficiency in Physically Based Rendering (PBR) workflows.
- Strong understanding of traditional art skills (shape, form, texture, value, color) and photographic concepts (EV, ISO, composition).
- Ability to create lighting content including textures, IES profiles, HDR maps, and materials.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong mentoring, coaching, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team and foster an engaging atmosphere to achieve the best results for the project and team member growth.
- Work with Leads and other Lighting Artists to create high-quality lighting schemes in keeping with the project's visual direction.
- Set lighting standards, quality targets, and conduct visual prototypes.
- Collaborate with Tech Art and drive R&D initiatives to explore new techniques and improve pipelines and workflows.
- Ensure lighting work is within budget and maintains performance goals by profiling levels.
- Work closely with production on task assignment, scheduling, and providing daily feedback on visual quality.
- Review and playtest work in the editor and in-game.
