Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of payroll, benefits, reimbursements, and leave accruals.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
  • Proven experience leading month-end close activities for significant expense areas.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP, T&E, and payroll systems (NetSuite, Ramp, and Rippling preferred).
  • Proven experience improving or implementing accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • 2+ years of people management experience preferred.
  • Experience with multi-entity/multi-country environments strongly preferred.
  • Background in public accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting for global payroll, including wages, bonuses, commissions, payroll taxes, and related liabilities.
  • Manage accounting for global employee benefits programs and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Lead month-end close activities for all employee-related cost areas and ensure GAAP compliance.
  • Evaluate existing processes for efficiency, risk, and automation opportunities.
  • Partner with Payroll, HR, and IT to improve data flow and integrate systems.
  • Strengthen internal controls around employee-related expense accounting.
  • Serve as the primary accounting liaison to Payroll and HR departments.
