Requirements
- 3–5+ years of total experience in DevOps or SRE roles.
- Senior-level depth in AWS platform engineering for high-throughput, low-latency services.
- Proven ownership of production systems at scale (10k–1M+ concurrent users).
- Hands-on experience with Java/Akka microservice delivery pipelines.
- Strong understanding of scaling patterns such as event-driven architecture, async IO, and caching.
- Deep knowledge of resilience strategies including circuit breakers, retries, and chaos engineering.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Experience with container orchestration (EKS/ECS) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI).
- Strong proficiency in Bash or Python for automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and stand up AWS environments end-to-end including networking, security, and automation.
- Build immutable infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for Java microservices utilizing blue/green and canary release strategies.
- Implement comprehensive observability systems including metrics, logs, traces, and SLO/SLI monitoring.
- Engineer reliability and performance through autoscaling, multi-AZ/region disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- Establish security-by-design principles including IAM, secrets management, and WAF implementation.
- Partner with developers and performance engineers to tune JVM, Akka configurations, and infra limits.
- Champion cost governance through resource tagging and reporting.
