Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Criminal Justice, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in BSA/AML investigations, transaction monitoring, fraud operations, or financial crimes compliance.
- Strong knowledge of merchant acquiring risks, including transaction laundering, MCC misclassification, chargeback fraud, and prohibited merchant categories.
- Working knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, SAR/CTR filing requirements, and FinCEN guidance.
- Excellent written communication skills for SAR narrative drafting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret transaction data and identify patterns.
- Familiarity with Actimize, FCRM, or similar transaction monitoring and case management platforms.
- CAMS or equivalent AML certification strongly preferred.
- CFE or other advanced certifications a plus.
- Experience in merchant acquiring or payments strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Investigate alerts and cases generated from transaction monitoring systems related to merchant acquiring activity.
- Analyze merchant-level transaction data, including payment flows, authorization patterns, MCC codes, chargeback ratios, and settlement behavior.
- Identify and investigate merchant acquiring-specific typologies like transaction laundering, merchant misclassification, and prohibited merchant activity.
- Prepare and file SARs with clear, well-structured narratives and manage CTR filings.
- Document investigative findings clearly within Actimize case management systems.
- Collaborate with BSA/AML peers, Fraud Operations, and partner oversight teams to ensure comprehensive risk coverage.
- Maintain current knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC regulations, and card network rules.
