Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering background with experience in complex systems.
- 3+ years managing remote engineering teams.
- Experience managing teams at a cloud, SaaS, or developer tools company.
- Demonstrated ability to manage remote, globally distributed teams working asynchronously across time zones.
- Strong passion for people management and building psychological safety.
- Experience with performance management and navigating difficult conversations.
- Ability to operate with ambiguity and build structure.
- Excellent written communication skills for a default async environment.
- Low-ego, collaborative, and adaptable approach to leadership.
- Technical credibility to participate in design discussions and set engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Build a healthy, high-trust team culture in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.
- Manage 1:1s, performance reviews, career development, and onboarding for direct reports.
- Own the hiring plan for the team, including sourcing, interviewing, and closing candidates.
- Manage the team's roadmap, project milestones, and workflow triage using Linear.
- Organize effort against support tickets and maintain the team's SLOs.
- Drive coordination, resolution, and blameless post-incident reviews as an Incident Commander.
