Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Communications, Public Health, Marketing, Graphic Design, English, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and professionally for diverse audiences with attention to health literacy and plain-language standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Comfort working in collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a hybrid remote team across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Prior experience or coursework in public health communications, health literacy, or federal/military-focused outreach (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards and federal communications or branding requirements (preferred).
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva for Enterprise) (preferred).
  • Experience producing digital assets, infographics, or visual communications for healthcare, nonprofit, or government clients (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop healthcare-related promotional and educational materials including fact sheets, flyers, toolkits, and campaign content.
  • Draft audience-centered messaging in partnership with subject matter experts ensuring health literacy and plain-language standards.
  • Create digital assets including graphics, infographics, and data visualizations for program reports and presentations.
  • Design and maintain a production schedule and content calendar for all communication materials.
  • Ensure all materials adhere to federal agency branding standards and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a Strategic Communications and Engagement Plan.
  • Coordinate communications across program offices to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Assist with preparation of executive briefing packages and monthly leadership progress reports.
  • Maintain version control over branding assets and compliance documentation.
