Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Six (6) months of student teaching experience.
- State certification in Integrated Science (9-12) (Physical Science, Earth Science, & Biology).
- Meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) in subject area under NCLB.
- Ability to clear a required background check.
- Experience working in a virtual environment and with online platforms like Canvas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently (40+ hours per week) and maintain a professional home office.
- Ability to travel for face-to-face professional development and student testing.
- Access to reliable high-speed internet.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership for student’s academic progress and attendance.
- Conduct live synchronous teaching (minimum of 15 hours per week).
- Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests.
- Monitor student progress through the learning management system.
- Collaborate with others regarding instruction, resources, and interventions.
- Submit grades, maintain grade books, and generate student progress reports.
- Establish rapport and communicate regularly with students and parents/Learning Coaches.
- Travel to testing sites to proctor state exams and attend school functions.
