Requirements
- Law degree and valid legal qualification in a common law jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of experience practicing employment law.
- Experience with multinational or remote teams preferred.
- Background or strong working knowledge in HR practices, compliance, or advisory roles.
- Demonstrated ability to work on employment law matters across jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of workplace regulations, contracts, and employee rights.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
- Exceptional legal drafting, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on employment law matters including hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, workplace policies, and disputes.
- Draft and review employment contracts, workplace policies, severance agreements, and contractor agreements.
- Support internal and client-side HR and leadership teams with employment-related legal strategy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Assist in resolving workplace disputes including harassment claims, employee grievances, and investigations.
- Advise on global and regional employment law compliance, particularly in Australia or other common law jurisdictions.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory updates related to employment and provide timely recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., HR, Finance, Operations) and external legal counsel when necessary.
