  • 10+ years of experience in used-book, academic publishing, library acquisitions, or book distribution.
  • Proven track record sourcing and procuring large volumes of academic books across multiple countries.
  • Strong established network with universities, libraries, wholesalers, and marketplaces.
  • Deep expertise in international logistics, freight forwarding, customs compliance, and warehousing.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory management systems, ISBN cataloging, and used-book grading standards.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex vendor contracts and build strategic sourcing partnerships.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in procurement data and cost modeling.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams across procurement, logistics, and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build operational infrastructure from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a global network of suppliers including universities, libraries, wholesalers, and publishers.
  • Develop procurement strategies to source large volumes of academic books cost-effectively.
  • Oversee end-to-end international logistics, freight forwarding, and customs clearance.
  • Design and optimize warehousing and fulfillment operations for large-scale inventory.
  • Implement inventory management systems to track ISBN data, condition grading, and valuation.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements with suppliers and distribution partners.
