- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three years of experience in designing or teaching high-quality secondary humanities instruction
- Proven record of developing rigorous, engaging, and culturally responsive curriculum
- Knowledge of New York State standards
- Experience developing unit plans, lesson plans, and assessments
- Ability to design performance-based assessments
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with instructional teams
Responsibilities
- Design full-course curricula for Middle School English, including scope and sequence, unit plans, and daily lesson plans
- Develop high-quality instructional materials, including student-facing lessons, activities, writing prompts, and projects
- Create assessments and rubrics aligned to grade-level standards
- Curate diverse text sets that reflect multiple perspectives
- Ensure alignment to New York State standards and Zeta’s academic vision
- Embed explicit instruction in literacy skills such as reading, writing, and critical analysis
- Collaborate with academic leaders and instructional coaches to ensure coherence
- Iterate on curriculum based on educator feedback and student data
