Requirements
- Active DoD security clearance (TS/SCI preferred; minimum active Secret with ability to obtain TS/SCI).
- Production experience with data storage (Apache Iceberg, Ceph, Postgres/pgvector).
- Experience with streaming and integration (Kafka/Strimzi, Flink, Debezium, legacy system integration).
- Proficiency with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Argo Workflows).
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modeling for analytical and operational workloads.
- Experience with Kubernetes in production (deployments, operators, CRDs, networking).
- Familiarity with Linux, container runtimes, and secrets management.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and GitOps (Flux, ArgoCD).
- Understanding of the CNCF ecosystem and security policies (ABAC/RBAC, OIDC/OAuth).
- Ability to travel 10%-25% of the time for on-site engagements.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and harden UDS Data Capability in the mission hero's environment.
- Integrate data platforms with existing legacy systems, identity providers, and cloud infrastructure.
- Build secure pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and cross-domain transit.
- Provide operational support, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and incident response.
- Generate accreditation artifacts to support cATO and FIPS validation.
- Act as a technical liaison between mission owners and internal engineering teams.
- Develop runbooks and provide training to ensure mission teams are self-sufficient.
- Mentor junior Data Engineer FDEs through pairing and design reviews.
