Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in data models, API design (HTTP and RPC), and state machines.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and database design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with technical specs, ADRs, and project plans.
- Experience launching backend systems using AWS, Kotlin, Python, and MySQL.
- Familiarity with gRPC, Snowflake, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems like Sentry, Rollbar, Chronosphere, or Kibana.
- Java and Kotlin experience are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and expand the platform backbone to scale for hundreds of thousands of global merchants.
- Design and align project scopes across teams to deliver complex cross-team initiatives.
- Mentor engineers to foster professional development and team growth.
- Partner with Engineering Managers and Team Leads to drive long-term technical vision.
- Execute technical strategy for complex requirements, solving open-ended problems.
- Utilize agentic development tools to automate development processes.
- Improve organization-wide engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
